Energy storage

Batteries can store energy produced by renewables during periods of high generation and then feed that energy back into the grid when needed. They can also be used to maintain vital grid stability, through products such as frequency support.

Conrad Energy is investing heavily in batteries because their use as a cleaner source of flexible energy for the grid is growing rapidly.

We currently have over 148MWh of battery projects in operation or construction and our aim is to build a sizeable 1GW battery portfolio over the coming years.

We have signed significant battery storage framework agreements with Tesla and GE Renewable Energy to achieve our battery storage ambitions.
