Community support

We take our role in local communities seriously, working to minimise disruption and contributing to the people and environments in or near our sites.

When developing a project, we consult residents in the neighbourhood about our plans. We consider feedback from local communities to create optimal outcomes for both planet and people.

At our Larport site for example, we’re sowing wildflowers around the solar panels to enhance biodiversity and have reduced the local primary school’s energy costs by installing panels on its roof.

Our Community Fund, set up in 2020, supports charities and not-for-profit initiatives in and near our sites and offices nationally. Through the Fund, Conrad Energy has contributed to environmental programmes including re-wilding, accessibility schemes for those with disabilities, arts programmes and recycling schemes to name but a few. We continue to support causes like these around the country, with the Fund growing year on year.

We’re also proud to hold the Silver Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). Having signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2021, our commitment to treat military personnel and their families fairly is unswerving – recognising their enormous contribution to our country.
