Renewable power

Increasing the amount of renewable energy we generate is critical to achieving the UK’s net zero targets.

Currently, around a third of the power in Great Britain is renewable. The advantage of these resources is that they’re never depleted but they can be intermittent, which is why we sometimes need to support them with flexible energy when balancing the grid.

Renewable power includes wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, biomass and tidal. In our drive to support the UK’s transition to net zero, we’re not only investing in flexible energy solutions but also in energy from renewable sources such as solar.

We’re busy developing, building and operating renewable assets – delivering benefits for generations to come.
