This site is an eight generator 20MW plant located at the former Chatterley Whitfield Colliery to the north of Stoke. The site is located on land owned by Stoke City Council and represents an important step in the revitalisation of the area. The plant generates sufficient electricity for 12,000 average homes. This is an example of a project that Conrad Energy acquired, redesigned, constructed and now owns and operates.
The generators are built by MTU, a Rolls Royce subsidiary company, and were containerised in the UK.
The time lapse footage provides a great overview of the construction process involved with the site. This project is one of Conrad Energy’s largest flexible generation sites, connecting at 33kV to the NGED network.
