Damian Darragh

Executive Chairman

Damian is a Fund Partner at I-Squared Capital. He has a highly successful track record of private equity infrastructure investment including setting up and sponsoring IPPs. He has previously led the build out 3 successful power generation companies in Infinis (UK), Everpower (USA) and RTR (Italy) through organic and buy-and-build growth strategies. He had a 20 year career with Terra Firma Capital Partners where he was latterly a Managing Director. He is also a non-executive director at both the Energia Group (island of Ireland) and Lynher Energy.

Steven Hardman

Chief Operating Officer

Steven is a corporate lawyer by profession but has spent the last 15 years in the waste and energy sectors. Formerly the Commercial Director at Infinis he is skilled in all aspects of legal and regulatory aspects of the UK energy market and has previously had responsibility for the Infinis wind development team and has built out in excess of 300MW of landfill gas generation and 400MW of onshore wind.

Chris was formerly Chief Formerly Chief Development Officer at Everpower in the USA, where he was responsible for the initiation and delivery of a 2000MW project pipeline, he has also held the role of Head of Development at RES, realising many wind farms across the UK. With over 28 years’ experience in clean energy, across 5GW of projects, Chris is also a past Chairman of the British Wind Energy Association, the trade body now known as Renewables UK.

David Bates

David Bates

Chief Financial Officer

David joined us in 2020 following the successful acquisition of Viridis Power. During his tenure as CFO at Viridis, he guided the business through the build out of 323MW of gas peaking plant and optimised the operation of an additional 220MW of STOR plant. David also led a number of capital raises and refinancings with multiple counterparties in the UK energy space. He is a Chartered Accountant, having initially qualified with KPMG.

Neil Filkin

Neil Filkin

Technical Director

Neil has 25 years’ experience successfully delivering change and improvement into operational environments, across energy, engineering and manufacturing sectors. Formerly the Operations Director of Viridis Power, he has also worked for Infinis, Rolls-Royce and Philips. Neil holds a PhD from Cambridge University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Lee spent 18 years at Centrica working in Energy Marketing and Trading. During this time he spent 10 years as a UK Power Trader and 6 years as Head of Power Origination. After leaving Centrica Lee spent a year at National Grid as Head of Business Development.

Steve Conry

Operations Director

Steve has 18 over years experience developing and operating power generation projects based on gas reciprocating engine technology. Having worked previously for Viridor, Cory Environmental and Alkane Energy Steve has worked on LFG, AD, Biomethane, Coal Mine Methane and Natural Gas Projects with over 400MW in total successfully delivered to date.

Rhys Kirk

Rhys is one of the UK’s foremost experts in OSIsoft/Aveva’s PI System – the enterprise-grade backbone of the country’s power infrastructure, and throughout his career has worked to solve energy and enterprise-level companies’ tech issues. Prior to setting up TGG, which Conrad Energy acquired in 2022, Rhys worked with Shell, Wipro Technologies, Centrica and Accenture.

Chris has worked in the UK energy sector for over 20 years, and he is passionate about using technology to address the challenges in the sector. His career started in plant operations, before he moved into energy trading and production optimisation, across a 4GW+ thermal fleet. After leading a pipeline of data analytics and operational insight projects, he founded TGG with Rhys Kirk, with an ambition to create iON; a flexible power asset dispatch and monitoring solution for decentralised power assets.

Steve Moody

Head of Trading

Steve has over 12 years’ market experience, including seven years at ENGIE optimising the UK thermal and pumped storage fleet in merchant, balancing and ancillary service markets. He has a deep understanding of market design, charging methodology and the CUSC. His technical knowledge includes building optimisation programs across multiple markets and assets. Steve is qualified as a field archaeologist.

Head of Energy Services

Tim joined us from Sembcorp UK where he was Head of Origination, working as Head of UK Services for the ElectroRoute. The former Head of Renewable Origination at Statkraft, where he established their UK Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) business, Tim has a strong track record in the energy sector. As Head of Energy Services, he is responsible for developing our PPA and energy supply business. Tim holds a PhD from the University of Leeds.

Mike Denman

Head of Construction

Mike has over 20 years experience in the construction of energy projects and waste management facilities, having worked previously for Viridor Waste Management and SLR Consulting. Mike is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Waste Management and holds a Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.

Mark Kelly

Head of Power Solutions

Mark joined us from Siemens in early 2021 and has previously held management positions at SSE and Honeywell. An experienced energy specialist, he was an instrumental member of the team that grew ENER-G into a market leading technology provider that was acquired by Centrica for £145m. As Head of Power Solutions, Mark helps our customers reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions whilst improving their energy resilience.

Philip Silk

Head of Development

Phil’s experience in energy development includes a broad spectrum of projects, ranging from upstream oil and gas, geothermal, gas storage and flexible power generation assets and he has worked for Centrica, EDF, SSE, Storengy and Sirius Minerals (Anglo American). As our Head of Development, he is responsible for driving the origination and development of new generation projects across various technologies. Phil holds an MSc from Oxford Brookes University.

Sonia Quiterio

Head of New Business

Sonia has global experience across a range of generation technologies and joins Conrad Energy from Sembcorp Energy UK where she worked as Senior BESS Asset Manager. As Head of New Business, Sonia is driving our strategy to introduce energy storage and net zero technologies to our portfolio. Sonia holds an MBA from Nottingham Business School.
